Legal Assistant: Simran Shoker
Ben advises and represents owners and strata corporations with a wide array of strata property law issues with a focus on dispute resolution. Ben regularly advises on issues of bylaw enforcement, strata governance, human rights issues, privacy, repairs and collections. Ben also has experience advising landlords, tenants, buyers and sellers in disputes arising out of residential and commercial leasing and real estate transactions.
Ben has represented clients at all levels of court in British Columbia and various administrative tribunals, including the Civil Resolution Tribunal (“CRT”), Human Rights Tribunal, Residential Tenancy Board and Office of the Information and Privacy Commissioner. Ben regularly acts for parties with CRT disputes acting as a helper or representative (when permitted by the CRT) at all phases of the CRT process, including assisting parties with enforcement or judicial review of CRT orders in the British Columbia Supreme Court.
Ben is a contributing author to the British Columbia Strata Property Practice Manual (published by the Continuing Legal Education Society of British Columbia) and a member of the education committee for the Professional Association of Managing Agents, where he regularly provides educational seminars to strata property managers. Ben also is a member of the board and past-president of the Vancouver Young Professionals Rotaract Club and a member of various recreational sports teams.
